Start this new year with movies, web-series, documentaries which would be hitting the platforms this month! From gripping web series which leave you in cliff-hanger, interesting shows, thriller movies or series or insightful documentaries, the list is here because this month promises the OTT enthusiast to be the one of the most watchful months for them. So keep reading through this and get ready to be tuned to the juicy content at the beginning of 2025!

1. ALL WE IMAGINE AS LIGHTS:

ALL WE IMAGINE AS LIGHTS is a drama film which was released in 2024 written and directed by Payal Kapadia. The casting includes Kani Kursuti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Maroon. This movie features in Malayalam, Hindi and Marathi languages. This was an international co-production because it involved companies from many countries. The movie revolves around two Nurses Prabha and Anu who are navigating through the challenges of their personal lives. The film made it to the World premiere at the mega competition in the 77^th Cannes Film festival which was on 23^rd May 2024 where the film was nominated and had eventually won the Grand Prix.

The movie was released in Kerala in September 2024 and all over in November 2024. This film is now streaming on Disney + Hotstar.

2. Gunaah Season 2:

Gunaah Season 2 is set to engage the OTT audience back into is thriller. Gunaah is a Hindi-adaption of the Turkish series ‘Ezel’ the plot revolves around the thrilling journey of a seasoned gambler who is entangled in a series of suspense and action. The key cast of the series are Tanmay Nagar, Gashmeer Mahajani, Surbhi Jyoti and Zayn Ibad Khan.  The series is streaming on Disney + Hotstar since January 3^rd.

3. Shark Tank Show: Season 4

Shark Tank Show is back with its season 4, the popular entrepreneurial show which show-cases talents of the entrepreneurs and offering them an opportunity to show case their ideas to the investors. The previous seasons of this show have a massive viewing. For the unversed, Shark-Tank India also based on the American show: Shark Tank where in both shows the entrepreneurs present their ideas to the investors who are known as the Shark and they decide whether to make investment in the company or not.

Shark Tank India is set to air on Sony Liv from 6^th January.

4. Black Warrant:

Black Warrant which is made by Vikram Aditya Motwane is the period drama series which stars Zahan Kapoor who is the grandson of Late legendary actor Shashi Kapoor in the lead character. This first kind of prison-drama series is the adaption of Sunil Gupta who was the former superintendent at Tihar Jail and also based on the book of journalist turned author Sunetra Choudhry’s book known as ‘Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer’.

The series also stars Rahul Bhat, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Anurag Thakur and Sidhant Gupta. The thrilling series is set to release on Netflix from 10^th January 2025.

5. The Sabarmati Report:

The Sabarmati Report is a Hindi language political drama- film which is written by Avinash, the story was given by Aseem Arora and with the direction by Rajan Chandel which was later produced by Dheeraj Sarma. This story revovles around Godhra Train burning incident of the Sabarmati train express on 27^th February 2002. This film has Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna and Riddhi Dogra.

The plot revovles around the journalist who is investigating the 2002 train burning incident in Gujarat and years later the journalist also discovers that hidden report. They come together to explore the truth. After releasing in big screens in November 2024, the movie is set to release on Zee5 thus bringing compelling narratives.

6. Paatal Lok Season 2:

The Most awaited season web series is back! Pataal Lok one of the most awaited seasons is back with its second season. The trailer of which was released some-time ago gave a glimpse into a crime thriller which puts Inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary played by Jaideep Alhawat into an unconventional territory.

For the unversed, Pataal Lok Season 1 was released in 2020 which was based on the Tarun Tejpal’s novel: The Story of My Assassins about a cop who was disillusioned cop who had landed up in a failed assassination attempt of a journalist. This series was made by Sudip Sharma and starred Jaideep Alhawat, Gul Panag, Neeraj Kabi and Swastika Mukherjee.

Pataal Lok would be streaming on Amazon Prime from January 17^th 2025

7. THE ROSHANS:

Are you a film enthusiast who is looking forward to the contributions of the mega stars in the Indian film industry? The Roshans is one of them. After the success of the Angry Young Men and The Romantics, now the Netflix has also announced yet another documentary titled as The Roshans which focuses on the journey and legacy of the Roshan family which focuses on Roshan Lal, Rajesh Roshan, Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan. This documentary focuses on the contribution of the family to the film industry. It would be streamed on 17^th January 2025 in Netflix.

8. Viduthalai Part 2:

Viduthalai Part II which can be translated to freedom part II is an Indian- Tamil language film, a political crime thriller film which has been directed and co-produced by Vetrimaaran in the RS infotainment and Grass Root film company. This film stars Vijay Sethupati and is the direct sequel to the film and it is two-part adaption of Jeyamohan’s short story. The film hit the big screens in India on 20^th December 2024. However, this movie will mark its OTT release on 17^th January 2025 at ZEE 5.
