Positive Points

Ram Charan who is playing the role of IAS officer does absolute justice to his role, given the fact he is playing the role of honest and upright officer. He has intensely commanded the screen. The confrontation scenes between him and SJ Suryah who is playing the role of CM’s son are one of the crucial scenes of the movie which has been executed in a precise manner. Ram Charan has performed exceptionally in distinct roles doing justice to the role of IAS officer and as well as Appanna who is a man with vision and his role feels sincere and impactful.

SJ Suryah who is playing the role of an antagonist and is power hungry to become a Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. His role has a commanding screen presence, his effective dialogue delivery and the subtle expressions have helped in enhancing the narrative specially during his interactions with Ram Charan.

Anjali who is Appanna’s wife, despite her limited role during the movie has left a long lasting impression. Her emotional scenes especially the conclusion part has been handled effectively.

Kiara Advani who is playing the role of Ram Charan’s love interest has done a decent job and justice to the role. Jayram who plays the role of antagonist’s brother has performed well while also introducing the side of humour.

One of the most intense and engaging element of the film is the cat and mouse game between the antagonist and the protagonist i.e. SG Suryah v/s Ram Charan, sets the game for the political thriller for the movie. The confrontation between them are some of the crucial moments in the film.

Thaman’s musical score coincides and supports Shankar’s vision which enhances the movie’s emotional and dramatic weight. The supporting cast has also performed well during in their roles effectively.

Negative points

While Ram Charan performs exceptionally well in both roles, the second character could have been explored in great detail especially during the film’s latter half. The emotional depth in the second half feels not developed at all which leaves certain void in scenes making them less emotionally important.

The story even though is engaging is not particularly ground-breaking as expected. There were certain scenes in the movie’s 1st half which could have been executed in a better manner and inclusion of romantic and love scenes at random moments disrupts the serious scenes thus hampers the serious tone of the narrative. There are certain scenes in the movie which rely heavily on the cinematic liberties which everyone won’t agree to

The song ‘Jaragandi’ song may not meet the expectations of Shankar’s fan who are looking for his signature grandeur. ‘Naanaa Hyraanaa song’s omission is another problem specifically for those who are anticipating the visual appeal on big screen.

Movie’s Technical aspect

Shankar’s ability to demonstrate to craft a political thriller drama even-though a few sense in the movies could have been executed in more a better manner.

Thaman’s contribution of music in the movie is a significant asset to the film which adds intensity and as well as emotional depth. Tirru’s cinematography has effectively captured the narrative in a beautiful manner. While Shameer and Ruben’s editing has ensured the film maintains a brisk pace. The production values are rich and meet expectations of the audience.

They have delivered with their stellar performance. However due to lack of the emotional depth in the 2nd half of the movie and few unnecessary scenes which hamper the overall impact of the movie.
